About Brantford, Ontario

Known as the “Telephone City”, Brantford is a city in the southwest region of Ontario. Brantford got its nickname as Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, was a former city resident. It is also the birthplace of Wayne Gretzky, one of the most famous hockey players in history. The city was the home to Canada’s first telephone factory in the 1870s and continued to develop an industrial centre for the first half of the 20th century.
