Toronto and Vancouver are both hotspots for filming and are home to recording studios, events like TIFF, and both cities offer world-class shopping, dining and entertainment. So it’s no surprise that many of our favorite celebrities have chosen to call Toronto or Vancouver home at one time or another.

Toronto

Drake

Possibly the most well-known Torontorian, Drake resides in his own Bridle Path palace, a 50,000-square-foot manor-style home designed by Canadian designer Ferris Rafauli.

As one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Toronto, it’ll cost you if you want to have Drake as a neighbor. The average price for a home in Bridle Path was $3,805,950 in July according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board.

Margaret Atwood

Since receiving her degree from the University of Toronto, Canadian novelist Margaret Atwood has resided in Toronto. She continues to live in Toronto, but her housing options undoubtedly got pricier. She resides in the Annex with her spouse, not far from Rachel McAdams!

In July, the average price for a home in the Annex was $1,602,595.

Rachel McAdams

Margaret Atwood’s house is within a short stroll from Harbord Village, where Rachel McAdams lives with her son and boyfriend in a stunning semi-detached row home in the Victorian style from the late 1880s, featuring a lush lawn and exposed red brick.

Living in this charming area close to downtown will cost you around $903,115, which was the average price for a home in July.

Mark Wahlberg

While he isn’t Canadian, American actor and producer Mark Wahlberg calls Toronto home. He owns a penthouse apartment at Yorkville’s Hazelton Hotel. Toronto’s upscale stores and eateries encircle his condo.

The average price for a condo in Yorkville in July was $1,205,519.

Shawn Mendes

Though he’s kept relatively quiet about it, Shawn Mendes moved from Pickering, Ontario, to a condo in downtown Toronto. The condo was purchased for just under $2,000,000 and features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a stunning outdoor terrace.

If you’re looking to live near Shawn Mendes, the average price for a condo in downtown Toronto was $811,860 in July.

Levy Family

This superstar family still resides in the home where Dan and Sarah grew up. While both adult children own their own homes outside of Toronto, the childhood home of the Schitt’s Creek stars still belongs to the Levys.

Vancouver

Michael Buble

It so happens that the King of Christmas was born in Vancouver, specifically in Burnaby. Throughout his prolific music career, he has proudly called Vancouver home. Staying in his hometown, Buble built a 27,000-square-foot house that he shares with his spouse Luisana Lopilato, and their three children, Noah, Vida, and Elias.

The median selling price for a detached home in Burnaby in July was $2,180,000, according to the Greater Vancouver Realtors.

Ryan Reynolds

Maybe the most famous Canadian actor, Reynolds was born and raised on the West Coast, specifically in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood. While he currently does not own property in B.C., both he and his wife Blake Lively have hinted they’re interested in moving.

If they do eventually decide to purchase property in Vancouver, they can expect to pay at least $1,964,000 for a detached home, which was the median selling price in Vancouver East in July.

Cobie Smulders

Vancouver holds special significance for actress Cobie Smulders, who gained popularity for her portrayal of Robin Scherbatsky in the popular television series “How I Met Your Mother” and her roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Smulders, who was born and raised in British Columbia, frequently visits her hometown and takes advantage of the natural beauty and cultural attractions of the area.

If you’re looking to purchase a home near Cobie’s hometown of White Rock, the benchmark price for a detached home was $1,828,600 in the Lower Mainland BC in July.

Bryan Adams

Vancouver, and the music business as a whole, have both been profoundly impacted by the legendary Canadian rock artist Bryan Adams. Known for songs like “Summer of ’69” and “Everything I Do (I Do It for You),” Adams has made Vancouver his home base.

A detached home in North Vancouver, near where Adams is said to live, will cost around $2,110,000, which was the median selling price in July.

Seth Rogan

Another Canadian icon, comedian, and writer Seth Rogen is a Vancouver native. While it was sold earlier this year, Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller had owned a Yaletown penthouse, complete with exposed brick walls and heavy industrial vibes. The penthouse was sold for over $2,000,000, which is significantly higher than the July benchmark price for an apartment in Greater Vancouver, which stands at $768,200.
